Why should I apply for the waiver?

You should apply for the waiver if you want to prescribe buprenorphine. After you complete the 12-course training program you will be qualified to apply for the waiver. Visit Buprenorphine.SAMHSA.gov to see the other ways that physicians can become qualified to prescribe buprenorphine.
