Take Control Game is designed to enhance addiction treatment for individuals in recovery by enforcing cue avoidance behaviors and reinforcing positive behaviors (seeking help) via a unique full body motion game based on the Kinect technology used in Xbox One.
Funding: NIH/NIDA Contract#N44DA-13-4415
Target audience: Adults (21 and older) in treatment for alcohol, tobacco, or non-medical use of prescription drugs
Clinic Support: Clinic partners receive the necessary hardware, software, and technical support required but no compensation. They will need to provide a quiet and private space for patients to play the game.
Game Design: The game is designed to be played in the clinic environment before or after an appointment.
